ben greenwood online art gallery represents the online showcase for the work of Ben Greenwood and other local artists. Ben Decided in late 2002 that the time had come to utilise the World Wide Web to bring his creations to a wider audience and the result is what you see before you. This site provides Gallery, Sales and Feedback facilities for you to use and any communication is gratefully received on both artistic and general matters and a response is guaranteed. Please feel free to browse the site and all sales enquiries are welcome.

ben greenwood

Ben Greenwood BA(Hons) was born in East Yorkshire in the mid-1970s, the son of a Photographer and Watchmaker and the Grandson of the well respected exhibiting artist Albert Halliwell. From an early age Ben developed his life-long interest in the Arts which has manifested itself in many ways including a love of Modern Art and Photography. Ben currently lives and works in the East Riding of Yorkshire, UK, doing what he would describe as a 'proper job!' for the NHS.

INFLUENCES

Ben grew up with his grandfathers artwork around him and some of his eariest memories are of his fantastic work. Bens latest Canvas, 'A Tribute to Albert Halliwell' pays homage to the influences of his grandfather and hopes to photograph and display some of his work alongside his own on this site. The work of Roy Lichtenstein is also stated as a major influence on Bens work as is the work of fellow Yorkshire artist David Hockney, Lichtentein providing the inspiration for Bens canvas 'Mirror No.1' amongst other pieces. Despite naming a number of influences Bens work remains very firmly his own.

ARTIST STATEMENT

First and foremost I would like to thankyou for visiting my Website. I am very excited to be finally bringing my work to a wider audience and I am curious to see where this new journey in cyberspace will lead! The website has been divided into a number of different sections so that you can navigate around it with ease and we are hoping to further develop the sales section further to allow those who would like to purchase their own original work the opportunity to do so via us. Until that time we are currently placing work on the eBay auction site, a link for which can be found on the sales page. All correspondance is gratefully received and i will endeavour to reply to all emails as soon as practicable. In an ever unstable and changing world i would urge all to rediscover inertia, inner reflection and to embrace simplicity wherever possible into your life.
