MEETING RICHARD GORDON |
On 23/11/03 I was lucky enough to meet and talk to Richard Gordon (Gemini 11, Apollo 12) at an autograph show in Coventry, UK. I have created this page to illustrate Richard Gordons Apollo 12 flight, which took place 14-24 November 1969. |

At the time of meeting Mr Gordon it was exactly 34 years to the day that he was in space returning from the moon, the culmination of a half a million mile journey. |

The three Apollo Astronauts reach the launchpad. Notice the poor weather. The Saturn V rocket was hit by lightening just after liftoff |

The lunar lander descends towards the moon with Charles Conrad and Alan Bean on board. This photo is taken by Richard Gordon who remained in the command module, orbiting the moon on his own, for a period of 33 hours prior to beginning the three day trip back to earth. |
